Radstadt South
(Radstadt, Austria), Competition, 2002
1. Prize

Program: Urban and Public Space Strategy
Client: City Marketing Radstadt
Starting point and Design Parameters:
As city expands, the road within the competition site receives a new roll: the bypass road, (originally defined as separate from the surrounding context) shifts to a city through road with integrated relationship to the context.

Design Concept and City entrance:
The modeling of the landscape serves as the most important design element. Perspectives are created which establish a dynamic pull into the central city. This gesture is supported by an alley of trees which begins in the inner city and continues along the street into the site where it ends at the roundabout. Thus the former separating bypass road becomes an integrated element in the plan.
